Farm Health Planning Seminars
The Farm Health Planning Seminars will be located in the Animal Health zone. This feature is designed to promote positive health planning in the dairy, beef and sheep sectors.
The area will provide visitors with the opportunity to gather expert advice that will be of practical use on their own farms.
Interactive seminars on various subjects that effect Animal Health will be running throughout both days.

Foot Trimming Demonstations
This popular feature returns to the 2010 Dairy Event and Livestock Show. Live demonstrations will take place at regular intervals throughout both event days. The accompanying commentary provided will offer visitors the opportunity to both watch and hear tips on the importance of keeping animals feet in good shape.
Located close to the Livestock Hall, visitors will be able to learn about the consequences of lameness in the dairy cow and its knock on effects to farm profitability.

Sheep Exhibition
Making a profit from sheep production is a real challenge even for those dedicated to the enterprise. Understanding the technical aspects is an essential prerequisite for all livestock farmers.
The RABDF in association with the National Sheep Association (NSA) will provide visitors with valuable information on the technical aspects of sheep production in this exhibition, located in the Livestock Hall.
The exhibition will encompass up to date information on the latest and key sheep industry news and developments; flock health planning, nutrition, animal health, grassland management, getting the best from the market place, breeds and breeding as well as the very latest sheep ID and handling systems.

Commercial Goat Exhibition
Following the success of this exhibition launched in 2008, RABDF in association with the British Goat Society will provide valuable information for existing goat farmers and those who want to know more about this growing market.
There will be a number of breeds on display with advice on their commercial applications for dairy, meat or fibre products located in the Livestock Hall.
Practical demonstrations will also be held on both days including AI, milking and foot trimming together with advice on feeding and genetics, which will be of benefit to all goat farmers.

The RBST National Show and Native Breeds Exhibition
Following its success in 2009, RABDF in association with RBST will stage the RBST National Show at the 2010 Dairy Event and Livestock Show.
Cattle, pigs and sheep will be on display providing an ideal platform for Native Breeds to highlight their advantages in the management of land using non intensive low cost production systems, including conservation grazing.
The RBST will also provide a commentary on the commercial application and advantages of the particular breeds during the show.

Meatmakers Exhibition
Brand new in 2010, the Meatmakers exhibition sponsored by Eblex, will incorporate companies involved in butchery, meat processing, packaging, labelling, storage and transport, meat processors and retailers.
A major highlight of this zone will be Eblex's Better Returns Programme identifying areas for cost saving, using EBV's to improve carcass merits, direct selling, selection for slaughter, meat marketing, exports, breeding and calf production, and feeding and forage.

Diversifarm
Launched at the 2005 Dairy Event, the Diversifarm Exhibition continues to prove popular with our visitors. This year’s exhibition, sponsored by the Country Land and Business Association, will be useful to livestock farmers planning to develop other sources of income from adding value as well as generating new income from existing farm assets.
This year, the exhibition will feature renewable energy as a viable alternative to creating additional opportunities on the farm.

Milkmade
Now in its eighth successful year, the Milkmade Exhibition, sponsored by Dairy UK continues to develop and attract an increasing number of exhibitors. The exhibition focuses on dairy technology, processing and marketing with information and advice readily available.
This specialist exhibition attracts visitors from both existing and potential processors of dairy products and includes companies from all sectors of the dairy supply chain.

Machinery Demonstrations
Working machinery is now a firmly established and popular feature at the Dairy Event and Livestock Show and will be repeated at the Dairy Event and Livestock Show 2010. This year livestock farmers will have a unique opportunity to compare models from the major manufacturers of mixer wagons as they are put through their paces.
As in previous years the mixer wagons will be tested out live during the course of the day, mixing both a dairy and beef total mixed ration each day. Visitors will have an opportunity to assess each mix for themselves from the samples on display, as well as being able to view the mixer in action from above from the viewing platform.
The RABDF is grateful for the continued support of John Deere for sponsoring the mixer wagon demonstrations.

Competitive Cattle
The competitive cattle section is a major attraction for visitors, enabling them to view the prime dairy stock in the country from seven different breeds.
The RABDF are indebted to Merial Animal Health who through their Igenity Brand, are once again generously sponsoring the competitive cattle section.

YFC Competitions
The National Federation of Young Farmers Clubs (NFYFC) organise a series of competitions taking place on Wednesday 8th September located in the Livestock Hall.
It will include the Junior Dairy Stockjudge, Intermediate Dairy Stockjudge, Senior Dairy Linear Assessment as well as the Young Stockjudge and Senior Stockman of the Year Finals.
